Coco de Mer

Eva and John collaborated with Coco de Mer founder Sam Roddick to create wonderfully creative, feminist, award wining short films and imagery that celebrate female sexuality. The focus was fun, surreality, and light provocation.

Erotic Moments

Erotic Moments is a series of 7 short art films loosely based on a selection from thousands of erotic moments and secret sexual fantasies that Coco de Mer’s community shared with the brand over the years. The Erotic Moments vary from the perfectly innocent, to delightfully naughty to beautifully explicit.

“Clothes also played a big part in Eva Midgley’s Honey and Bunny, which consisted in a series of cheeky vignettes in which the two actors played out various fantasies. Kitted out in lustrous fabrics and beautiful shoes, the women were not passive sex objects but agents of their sophisticated sexuality.”

“Similarly, Midgley’s Erotic Moments showed gentle, loving, consensual contact, such as the striking Footsie, which depicted a man being pleasured by a woman’s foot.”

“Pain and pleasure mix in a delicious afternoon nap out in the open fields. Filmmaker Eva Midgley loves to play with expectations and turn them on its head. Who is master, who is subservient here? Pollinate is part of a series of 7 films, called 'Erotic Moments’ exploring erotica from a female, artistic perspective, approached with a good deal of irreverence and humor. Curated by Sam Roddick, in collaboration with Coco de Mer in London, the films are (rather) loosely based on real people’s fantasies and most erotic moments. However, Pollinate is Eva’s own fantasy. Not sexual, but of a world where bees are not on the endangered species list but instead swarm around in large quantities. If they would pleasure women in fields, all the better.”

“Eva Midgley is a fresh talent. Footsie is an obvious winner. It's original, creative, erotic and really addresses the question where art and pornography meet."

—Judge Larry Clark (Director of Kids and Bully) on Footsie
